چکیده
If soil hydraulic conductivity or water holding capacity could be measured with a small volume of samples, it would benefit international fields where researchers can only carry limited amount soils out particular regions. We performed pinhole multistep centrifuge outflow method on three types soil, which included granite decomposed (Masa soil), volcanic ash (Andisol and alluvial clayey (paddy soil). The experiment was conducted using 2 mL 15 tubes in pinholes were created the top bottom for air intrusion outflow, respectively. Water content at 5, 15, 30 min after applying to examine equilibrium time. results showed that drainage worked well sufficient obtain data each step. Compared data, retention curve successfully optimized. Although shape similar, unsaturated conductivities deviated largely, implied Ks caused convergence issues. When set as constant, properties converged gave excellent results. This provide regions sampling is lacks data.

Inverse modeling of a radial multistep outflow experiment for determining unsaturated hydraulic properties
Modeling flow and solute transport in the unsaturated zone on the basis of the Richards equation requires specifying values for unsaturated hydraulic conductivity and water potential as a function of saturation. The objectives of the paper are to evaluate the design of a transient, radial, multi-step outflow experiment, and to determine unsaturated hydraulic parameters using inverse modeling. W...

متن کاملInverse Modeling of a Multistep Outflow Experiment for Determining Hysteretic Hydraulic Properties
A new, closed-form hysteretic model of the capillary pressure-saturation and relative permeability-saturation relationship has been implemented into ITOUGH2. The hysteretic capillary pressure function is based on the van Genuchten model, with a modified version of the dependent domain model of Mualem to describe the scanning curves. Hysteresis in the relative permeability relations is considere...
متن کاملCentrifuge modeling of one-step outflow tests for unsaturated parameter estimations
Centrifuge modeling of one-step outflow tests were carried out using a 2-m radius geotechnical centrifuge, and the cumulative outflow and transient pore water pressure were measured during the tests at multiple gravity levels. Based on the scaling laws of centrifuge modeling, the measurements generally showed reasonable agreement with prototype data calculated from forward simulations with inpu...
متن کاملResearch on Identifying Method of Freezing-Thawing Soil Hydraulic Properties
The identification of freezing-thawing soil hydraulic properties is the basis and key problem of studying soil water movement. Current identifying methods of the properties have many limitations, such as big error, high uncertainty and low operability. Thus, the identifying method of freezingthawing soil hydraulic properties was researched in the research. The estimating parameters of soil free...
